Free Tax Clinic

The Rotary Club of Kelowna Ogopogo offers free tax clinics for low-income individuals and families as part of the CRA's Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP).

Clinics will be held from 9 AM to noon at St. Michael's Cathedral, located at the corner of Richter Street and Sutherland Avenue:

  • On the first Friday of February 2026, the 6th,
  • Every Friday of March and April 2026
  • On the first Friday of the month starting May 2026

The CVITP is a long-standing initiative by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) in partnership with community organizations to help individuals with modest incomes and simple tax situations file their income tax and benefit returns for free. This program assists seniors, low-income individuals and families, newcomers to Canada, Indigenous Peoples, persons with disabilities, students, and individuals experiencing homelessness.

The program makes tax filing accessible for vulnerable individuals and helps them access important government benefits and credits, such as the GST/HST credit, Canada Child Benefit, and various provincial and federal tax credits. These clinics have helped people access billions of dollars in refunds and benefits.

Between 75 and 100 tax returns were filed during March and April of 2025.

7th Annual Ogopogo Rotary Club "Fancy Pants" Golf Tournament 2025
A huge thank you to everyone who made the 7th Annual Fancy Pants Golf Tournament 2025 a smashing success this last September! We were thrilled to hand over a cheque to the Child & Youth Advocacy Centre (CYAC) in Kelowna, thanks to your incredible generosity.
Pictured here, Brian Hillaby, President of the Ogopogo Rotary Club, is seen in his truly stunning fancy pants, presenting the cheque to Ginny Becker, Executive Director of CYAC. This vital donation will support the amazing work CYAC does for vulnerable children and families in our community. As Ginny Becker shared, "It truly has become one of the fund-raising highlights of our year. It's so fun to take the day and interact with your club members and community on the golf course. It does more than raise money, it also raises important awareness and connection for our work. We could not be more grateful to all of you for being by our side for all of these years and helping to ensure that our work persists."
And a special shout-out to organizer Ray Lewis, who said, "So very glad we could be part of the CYAC story again this year! Such a fantastic organization doing incredible and complex work for our community. Fancy Pants is all about having a great time while giving back. The generosity of our sponsors ensures that the fun on the course translates into real impact in our community."
Together, we're making a real difference for the Child & Youth Advocacy Centre of Kelowna !
Save the date for the next tournament in September of next year! We're already looking forward to another fantastic event.

2025 Kettle Campaign, Salvation Army

A huge thank you to everyone in our generous community who stopped by and donated. Your contributions make a real difference.
We are also incredibly grateful to Francis Cheng from Raymond James for their generosity in matching all donations!
The Salvation Army collects money every year as Christmas approaches to help those who are most in need in our community. Thank you for helping us support their vital work!
