What is the Tax Clinic?

The CVITP is a long-standing initiative by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) in partnership with community organizations to help individuals with modest incomes and simple tax situations file their income tax and benefit returns for free. This program assists seniors, low-income individuals and families, newcomers to Canada, Indigenous Peoples, persons with disabilities, students, and individuals experiencing homelessness.

The program makes tax filing accessible for vulnerable individuals and helps them access important government benefits and credits, such as the GST/HST credit, Canada Child Benefit, and various provincial and federal tax credits. These clinics have helped people access billions of dollars in refunds and benefits.

We're so proud of our involvement in the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) for the 2025 tax-filing season!

Between 75 and 100 tax returns were filed during March and April of 2025.

We have made a significant difference in the lives of many Canadians, helping individuals meet their tax obligations and receive the benefits and credits they're entitled to. We are still running monthly clinics so if you have modest means and need your taxes filed, contact us.
